On May 25, 2025, the China Construction Fifth Engineering Division Bangladesh Project Department joined hands with the  Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka and Institute Of Woman and Child Health Hospital to host a Dragon Boat Festival-themed cultural exchange event at Dhanmondi Girls' College. The event attracted enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, fostering cultural and friendly ties between China and Bangladesh.

Promoting Chinese Culture
During the event, Principal Yang Hui from the Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka explained the origins and traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival to the students. Through vivid storytelling and engaging multimedia presentations, students gained insight into the cultural significance of this Chinese tradition. “We hope such cultural activities allow more Bangladeshi youths to experience the charm of Chinese culture, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between our peoples,” said Principal Yang.

Focusing on Student Health
Dr. Jebunnesa from Bangladesh City HospitalInstitute Of Woman and Child Health Hospital led a team to provide free health consultations and blood tests while educating students on women’s health. “Women’s health is the cornerstone of societal progress. We hope to safeguard the future of these students by spreading health awareness and offering medical support,” Dr. Jebunn esa remarked.

Experiencing Traditional Chinese Crafts
Interactive activities like rice dumpling making, kite painting, and egg coloring added a layer of fun and engagement to the event. Students eagerly participated, many trying their hand at these traditional crafts for the first time, and were enchanted by the charm and creativity of Chinese culture.

Building Bridges of Friendship
CSCEC also prepared sachets, colorful threads, and study supplies for the students and teachers, symbolizing blessings of peace and prosperity. The principal of Dhanmondi Girls' College stated, “This event not only allowed us to experience the unique charm of Chinese culture but also the warmth and care of Chinese enterprises.”

Enhancing Sino-Bangladeshi Cultural Exchange
This event underscored CSCEC's commitment to social responsibility while deepening the cultural ties between China and Bangladesh. “We will continue to contribute to the friendship and cooperation between our nations through diverse activities,” said QI PENGLIANG of CSCEC Bangladesh.
